Life Cycle Assessment
LCA Consulting for Products, Processes and Strategic Decisions
Our life cycle assessment work helps teams understand environmental impacts across sourcing, manufacturing, use, and end-of-life stages so product and operational decisions are grounded in evidence rather than assumptions.

Where LCA adds the most value
A strong LCA does more than check a compliance box. It helps compare alternatives, identify impact hotspots, improve product strategy, support EPD preparation, and strengthen customer-facing sustainability claims with a defensible analytical basis.
Coverage
Built for organizations operating in India and international markets where sustainability, carbon, and disclosure expectations need to hold up across multiple stakeholder contexts.
Scope Highlights
What We Typically Cover
ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 aligned life cycle assessment studies
Cradle to grave assessment across materials, processing, transport, use and disposal
Scenario comparison for material choices, manufacturing routes, and design options
Interpretation support for internal decision-making and customer communication
Common Use Cases
Where This Work Fits Best
Product sustainability reviews
Compare product variants, packaging routes, or sourcing options using a structured environmental life cycle assessment approach.
Process improvement studies
Evaluate how manufacturing, energy, logistics, or waste changes shift life cycle impacts across the value chain.
EPD and customer requirements
Prepare LCA evidence that supports environmental product declaration work, procurement questionnaires, sustainability claims, and international buyer discussions.
Delivery Outputs
What Clients Receive
The output is designed to be usable by leadership, sustainability teams, operations teams, and external-facing stakeholders without diluting the technical basis behind the work.
Goal and scope definition with functional unit and boundary logic
Life cycle inventory and impact assessment summary
Hotspot interpretation and sensitivity discussion
Decision-ready recommendations for product or process improvement
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a life cycle assessment (LCA)?
A life cycle assessment measures the environmental impacts of a product or process across its life cycle, from raw material extraction and manufacturing to transport, use and end of life. It covers impacts such as climate change, water use and resource depletion, not only carbon.
What do ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 cover?
ISO 14040 sets out the principles and framework for LCA, and ISO 14044 sets the detailed requirements: goal and scope definition, life cycle inventory, impact assessment and interpretation. Studies that make comparative claims to the public also need a critical review under ISO 14044.
What is the difference between an LCA and a product carbon footprint?
A product carbon footprint (ISO 14067) looks at one impact category, climate change, expressed in kg CO2e. An LCA looks at several impact categories at once, which helps avoid shifting the burden from carbon to water, land or toxicity.
Is an LCA needed for an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)?
Yes. An EPD is built on an LCA carried out to the relevant Product Category Rules (PCR) and then verified and published through an EPD programme operator. We prepare the LCA and the evidence needed for that process.
How long does an LCA study take?
A focused cradle-to-gate LCA for one product usually takes 4 to 8 weeks; multi-product or cradle-to-grave studies with critical review take longer, depending on data availability.
