LCA and Documentation for Environmental Product Declarations

An Environmental Product Declaration turns an LCA into a verified, published document that architects, specifiers and procurement teams trust. We prepare the LCA, background report and evidence an EPD programme and its verifier expect.

Product testing and LCA data for an Environmental Product Declaration

What an EPD actually requires

An EPD is a Type III environmental declaration under ISO 14025. It must follow the Product Category Rules for your product, rest on an ISO 14040/14044 LCA, and pass independent verification before a programme operator publishes it. For construction products, EN 15804 sets the core rules. Most of the effort is in the data and documentation, which is where we focus.

Coverage

Built for organizations operating in India and international markets where sustainability, carbon, and disclosure expectations need to hold up across multiple stakeholder contexts.

Scope Highlights

What We Typically Cover

Choosing the programme operator and Product Category Rules that fit your markets

Plant-specific LCA modelling to the PCR, including EN 15804 modules for construction products

Background LCA report and EPD draft in the programme's format

Support through third-party verification questions until publication

Common Use Cases

Where This Work Fits Best

Green building projects

Supply EPDs that contractors need for IGBC, GRIHA, LEED and BREEAM credits.

Export and public procurement

Meet buyers and tenders in Europe and the Middle East that ask for verified EPDs.

Lower-carbon product launches

Back a low-carbon claim with a published, verified declaration rather than marketing copy.

Delivery Outputs

What Clients Receive

The output is designed to be usable by leadership, sustainability teams, operations teams, and external-facing stakeholders without diluting the technical basis behind the work.

PCR and programme operator recommendation

ISO 14044 and PCR-compliant LCA model and results

LCA background report and EPD document draft

Verifier query log and support through publication

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)?

An EPD is an independently verified document that reports the life cycle environmental impacts of a product, such as its global warming potential, in a standard format defined by ISO 14025 and the relevant Product Category Rules.

How is an EPD different from an LCA?

The LCA is the underlying study. An EPD is the standardised, verified and published summary of that study, prepared to specific Product Category Rules so results are comparable within a product category.

What is EN 15804?

EN 15804 is the European standard that sets core Product Category Rules for construction products, including the life cycle modules (A1 to D) that must be reported. Most construction-product EPDs follow it.

Which EPD programme should we use?

It depends on where your customers are. The International EPD System, IBU, EPD Italy and regional programmes are common choices; we compare fees, PCR availability and market recognition before you commit.

How long does an EPD take?

Typically 8 to 16 weeks from data collection to publication, depending on how many products and plants are covered and the verifier's turnaround.
